The effectiveness of an ultrasonic processor is mainly defined by the ability of its core component called “ultrasonic horn” (a.k.a. horn, probe, sonitrode, waveguide) to produce high vibration amplitudes and intense cavitation in liquids.

Conventional Horns Have Scale-Up Limitations

Conventional horns are able to produce high vibration amplitudes only when their output tip diameters are small. Ultrasonic processors based on these devices are, therefore, appropriate only for small-scale laboratory use but not for commercial production.

LSP-600

Laboratory-Scale Processor

The LSP-600 ultrasonic liquid processor is designed for feasibility testing and procedure optimization. It is capable of continuous operation for up to 1 hour at a time and can handle liquid volumes up to 2 L.

 

Overview:

The LSP-600 is a flexible unit that can handle a test batch (15 ml to 2 L at a time) with ease while providing the benchmark by which you can scale up to larger production units. Engineered to streamline the transition from R&D to commercialization, the LSP-600 is meticulously designed to be the most reliable, flexible, and user-friendly laboratory ultrasonic processor available.

The patented Barbell Horn®-based design allows a wide-range amplitude control and is capable of handling various liquid materials, including those with a high solids content and/or viscosity. The LSP-600 comes in two configurations: batch and flow-through. It is equipped with state-of-the-art accessories, including sound enclosure, flow-through mixing vessel with continuous stirring, and precise temperature control components.

ISM systems are built with cGMP compliance in mind, can be delivered worldwide and arrive mostly pre-assembled for seamless integration into your lab. The ISM customer support team and detailed documentation will assist you in conquering lab experiments and scaling them up.

BSP-1200

Bench-Scale Processor

The BSP-1200 ultrasonic liquid processor is designed for procedure optimization and medium-scale production. It is capable of continuous 24/7 operation and can handle unlimited liquid volumes.

Overview:

The BSP-1200 ultrasonic liquid processor comes standard with a 1,200 W ultrasonic generator, water-cooled transducer, Barbell Horn®, flow-through reactor chamber (flow cell) with a cooling jacket, heavy-duty support stand, spanner wrench set, and noise reduction ear muffs. Optional items include a storage/mixing tank with integrated mixer, peristaltic pump, sound enclosure, water chiller, magnetic stirrer with hotplate, jacketed beaker, NanoStabilizers®, and filters.

The BSP-1200 processor can be used in batch and flow-through configurations.

The BSP-1200 processor utilizes our patented Barbell Horn® Ultrasonic Technology (BHUT), which makes it possible to generate extremely high ultrasonic amplitudes at any scale of operation. By upgrading to our larger BHUT-based unit, ISP-3600, any process optimized with the BSP-1200 can be directly scaled-up to an industrial production environment.

The ISP-3600 ultrasonic liquid processor is designed for commercial-scale production. It is capable of continuous 24/7 operation and can handle unlimited liquid volumes.

The ISP-3600 ultrasonic liquid processor comes standard with a 3,600 W ultrasonic generator, water-cooled transducer, Barbell Horn®, flow-through reactor chamber (flow cell), heat exchanger, heavy-duty support stand, spanner wrench set, and noise reduction ear muffs. Optional items include a storage/mixing tank with integrated mixer, magnetic stirrer with hotplate, sound enclosure, peristaltic pump, water chiller, jacketed beaker, NanoStabilizers®, and filters.

The ISP-3600 processor can be used in batch and flow-through configurations.

The ISP-3600 processor utilizes our patented Barbell Horn® Ultrasonic Technology (BHUT), which makes it possible to generate extremely high ultrasonic amplitudes at any scale of operation. With the ISP-3600, any process optimized with our smaller units, LSP-600 or BSP-1200, can be directly scaled-up to an industrial production environment. Further scale-up is possible by placing several ISP-3600 processors in parallel and/or in series.
